This workshop will provide participants with a deep understanding of the Smarter Balanced performance task structure and how to use that structure to build tasks that are aligned, but make sense in real classrooms. Participants will be provided with a process and planner for creating and implementing their own rich performance tasks.

The Digital Library has over 3,000 entries for K-12 teachers to use in developing their formative assessments. California bought the license for every classroom teacher to have access to its use.

This workshop focuses on instructional strategies for Mild/Moderate and General Ed teachers to use in the classroom when planning and teaching the new Common Core Standards to students with Individual Education Plans (IEP). Lesson planning is based around “Universal Design for Learning” theory and lesson examples and suggestions will be shown. Technology integration is also discussed in this workshop.
