The San Diego and Imperial Service Center Councils are privileged to again host the annual Fall Leadership Conference in Palm Springs, CA. The 2018 conference is packed with new tools designed to assist you in representing your members by providing clear, current and comprehensive information.

UNIVERSITY CREDIT
University Credit is available online from California State University Chico Department of Education.  One semester unit of credit is available at this conference.  The cost is $60 per unit and is payable by check or credit card.  Click here to purchase the unit.

Lighting a SPARK: Fostering New Leaders

Build a Stronger Local, Build Your Local’s Leadership Capacity
This one-day pre-conference training is for new and emerging leaders in your local association. Topics covered will include:

  • Unionism 101

  • Leadership, Leaders and Assessing Leadership Styles

  • Importance of “Your” Story (an Organizing Tool)

  • History and Structure of Locals/CTA/NEA

  • Exploring Leadership Opportunities within the Union

  • Networking with Other Emerging Leaders


Region IV will cover the following costs for Friday only:

  • There is no registration fee if attending only the SPARKS training.

  • Meals: Continental breakfast and lunch

  • Release time

  • Hotel for Thursday night ONLY if needed to arrive on time.

 Locals are responsible for:

  • Lodging for Friday & Saturday if staying for the conference

  • Travel costs and meals not covered as stated above as well as any other expenses the local approves

  • Conference registration fee if attending the SDISCC Fall Leadership Conference
