Join us on Friday for two newly updated and timely pre-conferences.
Registration begins on Friday at 4:00pm with a dinner buffet reception at 6:30pm followed by entertainment. Workshops begin Saturday morning and end with Caucuses in the late afternoon. IPD Equity & Access in Assessment (9:00am - 3:00pm)
How does assessment affect the social-emotional well-being of students in the classroom? What do teachers need to know so that they can engage in effective assessment practices to support student learning?
Your classrooms have diverse learners with diverse needs and educators know that the best assessment practices are those that take place during classroom instruction, not in a single isolated event. Participants will come away with a bigger toolbox of daily classroom practices that can be used to gauge student learning and will develop a deeper understanding of how to design formative assessments that take the well-being of students into consideration.
Journey to Financial Independence (10:00am - 4:00pm)
This free one-day workshop gives educators the tools to plan for financial independence and create an engagement plan to share with local union colleagues. We are excited about a new approach to our retirement savings pre-conferences which includes inviting chapter leaders, membership chairpersons and site reps (up to 5 per chapter).
CTA wants to help members reach their retirement dreams. This is a core union value and great way to engage local members. We are inviting local leaders, membership chairpersons and/or site reps to the conference to help them in their journey and identify opportunities to build an organizing campaign around this important issue with local members.
